Galvin Green | A Staple in Golf Fashion

Over 30 years after Galvin Green was established by Tomas Nilsson, the brand continues to dominate the global outerwear market with evolutionary product. Although early success depended heavily upon outerwear, Galvin Green is much more than waterproof clothing and technological fabrics. As a pioneer brand in applying the Multilayer Concept in the sport of golf, the functionality of the garments allow us to combat any adverse weather conditions such as cold, cold and wind, cold and rain, or heat, changes that can often happen when you spend hours on a golf course.

Combining the different garments (GORE-TEX, GORE-TEX Paclite, Windstopper, Insula, Ventil8, Skintight Compression and Skintight Thermal) you won’t find yourself compromised on the course as you’ll be perfectly protected, dry and comfortable, to enjoy your golf no matter the elements. Nilsson’s ultimate goal was to create a golf brand that maximized performance on the golf course. Here are some of the key developments throughout the years that helped make Nilsson’s goal a reality.

1992

The introduction of GORE-TEX, a waterproof, breathable fabric membrane was combined with a mesh lining was to create the first category offered in the Galvin Green Collection. This innovation allowed for rain suits to be created in a variety of colors other than black or navy.

2003

GORE-TEX Paclite is introduced providing golfers with a very light and packable jackets that could be carried or worn every day. Guaranteed to keep you dry, technology infused in these jackets also protects from wind chill during activities and while resting in the elements.

2007

Four years after the introduction of GORE-TEX Paclite which made garments lighter, Galvin Green released the first GORE-TEX waterproof jacket and trouser in a fully stretch material. These enhancements led the company to great success landing Galvin Green as one of the official brands of the 2014 Ryder Cup and the official outerwear provider for the European Ryder Cup Teams in 2016 and 2018.

2019

SHAKEDRY technology was added to Galvin Green’s GORE-Tex line, providing golfers with super light, extremely breathable garments equipped with the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ promise. The unique design with the persistent beading outer face prevents water absorption. Water simply beads up and runs right off the surface, just a couple of shakes remove almost all water.

Today

Galvin Green has made a commitment to sustainability via the brand’s Eco-Friendly Initiative and partnership with Bluesign, an industry leader in providing solutions and services for manufacturers within the textile industry. The result? A new-eco generation of INSULA made from recycled plastic bottles.

One of the latest Galvin Green products to hit TRENDYGOLF USA is the Dante Insula hoodie.

This jacket features a full front zip, fixed hood with mesh lining, zip hand pockets for small item storage and allover two-color design. We love that this jacket is breathable and provides just enough stretch to allow for freedom of movement throughout the swing. Explore our favorites from the Galvin Green Autumn/Winter ’20 Collection.
