Take Flight | Air Jordan I Golf Low

Take Flight | Air Jordan I Golf Low

Nike kickstarts 2022 with a brand new golf shoe release that many golfers have anxiously anticipated. The Air Jordan 1 Low Golf will be available in multiple colorways on Saturday, January 22nd.

The original Air Jordan 1 shoes were debuted by His Airness in the 1984-1985 basketball season with the shoes first hitting retail in April 1985. During this season he alternated between the Air Ship and the new Air Jordan 1 and was warned by the NBA about his shoes being too 'flashy'. Nike ended up picking up the tab each time Jordan wore a prohibited shoe color-way on-court thankfully; the AJ1 Low golf shoes are available and shouldn’t come with any fines!

During a two-day shoot with Chuck Kuhn, Jordan recreated the pose he'd struck in a 1984 photo taken by Jacobus Rentmeester for LIFE magazine. The new shot was turned into a silhouette graphic which is now the iconic Jumpman logo. The logo itself didn't feature on a shoe until the 1988 Air Jordan. The Air Jordan 1 was the only Jordan model, until 2016, to feature both a swoosh and the wings logo (added to the shoe instead of the original 'Air Jordan' word-mark on the back heel).

The golf shoes themselves feature a stitch-for-stitch reconstruction of the Air Jordan 1 Low with an encapsulated air pocket in the heel for comfort, genuine leather and bold color-blocking recreating the classic look. The outsole includes an integrated traction pattern with a forefoot pivot circle for grip on a variety of surfaces. They also boast a one-year waterproof warranty and two sets of laces allowing you to personalize your look.

Three colorways - 'Wolf Grey', 'Shadow', and a classic Triple White will launch on Saturday, January 22nd at 7AM PST.
